The legendary French flautist Marcel Moyse, who singlehandedly revolutionised flute playing and teaching methods was also a pioneer when it came to recordings. Jam amazed time and time again when listening to his records — most of them made between 1927 and 1938— of how relevant and captivating they are. With his incredibly pure and rich tone, an amazing palette of colours, stunning musicality and charisma, incredible expression and vividness, he seems to be virtually jumping out of the CD player, to such an extent that I feel as if he was playing beside me... howl wish it were true.
